Darryl Fern, of the Highlanders Royal Regiment of Scotland, was killed by a roadside improvised explosive device on June 12, 2008, in Kut, Iraq. Fern was deployed with the Aegis PSD working for the U.S. Department of Defense in Camp Ramadi, Iraq. He is survived by his wife, Tracie; and sons Ciaran and Jordan.
